Thai Yoga Massage originated in India 2500 years ago and is based on the ancient healing systems of Ayurveda. Thai Yoga Massage is a deeply relaxing, sequence-based massage with assisted yoga stretches. A session will assist in the relief of physical and mental pressures, and take you to a place of bliss. The CE yoga practitioner uses his hands, thumbs, elbows, knees, legs and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches and applies muscle compression, joint mobilisation, and acupressure palming and thumbing along the body's energy (Sen) lines and pressures points - no oils or lotions are used. Remedial, Lomi Lomi and Swedish massage also available
Traditional styles of massage use oils or lotions and are done on an elevated massage table; Thai Yoga massage is performed on special padded mat on the floor.
Thai Yoga massage is invigorating (traditional Thai massage is often described as vigorous); our qualified practitioners will seek your feedback and will adjust the degree of pressure and stretching as required.
Applying pressure to tender muscle fibre adhesions (known as 'muscle knots') can hurt; there is a difference between discomfort and pain due to excessive or inappropriate pressure and stretching. While it may be difficult to avoid some discomfort when targeting muscle knots, our qualified practitioners will be able to adjust the massage pressure and movements to ensure comfort.
On arrival, our Thai Yoga practitioner will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire for your health history before the massage.
Advise if you would like to undertake the massage clothed or naked. If clothed please bring or wear loose comfortable clothing. CE YOGA massages are between 60 to 90 minutes (confirmed at time of appointment).
